Brief Summary from Goodreads :
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

My Point of View :
Colleen Hoover is definitely one of my all time favorite author. The stories she writes always brings a different aspect of romance and never fail to surprise me. Every one of her books always include a little something special – Hopeless’s most prominent quote or something special to me was I live you as opposed to the normal “I love you”. In Ugly Love, instead of “I love you to death”, it’s I love you to life.
Out of all the tearjerker books that I’ve read, I think this is the only time I’ve cried for a male character. Main reason is that I can relate to female characters more than male ones, since a female are normally more vulnerable than a male. Second reason, the amount of pain and sadness that Miles hold inside of him is so overwhelming (Yes, I can feel just by reading the words. That’s how good Colleen Hoover bringing a character to life), so I can’t help myself but feel Miles pain – even after he treated Tate like a jerk.
I really did hope that whatever happened in Miles’ past was that Rachel and the baby died, which somehow made Miles not being able to fall in love again. So imagine my surprise when I found out she survived and then left Miles all alone afterwards. Then seven years later, when Miles finally found her, she’s ACTUALLY happily married! Could you believe that?! I mean, I thought she would have at least look for Miles again when she’s happy again and gave him a closure, but no…..what a coward. I’m sorry….I get it’s painful for her to face her past but I have to channel my hate to one the characters for the pain that Miles and Tate felt when all this while Rachel is actually married with two kids already.
Ugly Love is just…..beautiful. I was hooked the moment I read the first page and could not put it down until I reach the end of the story. It is simply beautiful. I can’t wait to see what story will she write next!
Favorite Quotes :“And I realized….just now….that God gives us the ugliness so we don’t take the beautiful things in life for granted” – Miles “Love isn’t always pretty, Tate. Sometimes you spend all your time hoping it’ll eventually be something different. Something better. Then, before you know it, you’re back to square one, and you lost your heart somewhere along the way” – Cap/Samuel
