Storyline Rating : 5/5 stars

Series : Book 5 in Evernight

Brief Summary from Goodreads :

For hundreds of years, the vampire Balthazar has been alone-without allies, without love.
When Balthazar agrees to help Skye Tierney, a human girl who once attended Evernight Academy, he has no idea how dangerous it will be. Skye’s newfound psychic powers have caught the attention of Redgrave, the cruel, seductive master vampire responsible for murdering Balthazar and his family four centuries ago. Now Redgrave plans to use Skye’s powers for his own evil purposes.
Balthazar will do whatever it takes to stop Redgrave and exact his long-awaited revenge against his killer. As Skye and Balthazar stand together to fight him, they grow closer-first unwillingly, then undeniably. Balthazar realizes his lonely world could finally be changed by her. . .

My Point of View :

I didn’t expect this book to be nice, since the ending for Bianca and Lucas was kinda lame back in the last book. In fact, after reading the book, I’m kinda hoping that Balthazar is real (*currently drooling*), he is definitely boyfriend material!

In this book, I get to know more about Balthazar – his past, how he became a vampire, what happen between him and his sister…etc. I also got to know about Skye, which is surprising when I thought the book will be focusing on Balthazar’s life but the chapters alternated between Skye’s and Balthazar’s POV, which is kinda cool. Besides having a relationship with Balthazar, Skye have a role, whereby her blood is “important” or should I say addictive to vampires. Redgrave (*Balthazar’s greatest enemy*) and his tribe is trying to kill Skye for her blood and this is where Balthazar jumps in and became the knight in shining armor…(*sighs dreamily*).

As for the ending, I would love to know what happen to Skye though. Did she become a vampire just to stay with Balthazar? Or is there going to be a sequel? Oh well….

OK, if you were curious about Balthazar before, read this book. You’ll definitely love him!
