Brief Summary from Goodreads :
To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.
Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?
My Point of View :
First off the cover is awesome. The purple hue on her skin is so beautiful! This must be Tamra.
Ok…moving on, the story itself is not bad. It has quite an exciting climax near the end of the book – Jacinda’s sister, Tamra, finally manifested. She is actually a shader, which makes her equally valuable in the pride. I seriously hate Severin and also (maybe) the elders. How could they see both Jacinda and Tamra like a “thing” or an “item” that they could possess? Grr….I hope they somehow die or get punished in the next book. Ok…maybe that is a little bit too much, probably losing Jacinda and Tamra could be the best revenge!
I am glad to finally know that Cassian is not seeing Jacinda just because she’s a fire-breather. I never thought that he would actually love Jacinda, since I was thought that Cassian is destined to be Tamra’s future or soon-to-be boyfriend. I wonder if Cassian will finally fall for Tamra in the next and final book. Oh well….I guess it’s officially a love triangle. I still prefer Will though.
